Henri Coanda International Airport (in Romanian Henri Coanda Internaţional Aeroportul) (IATA: OTP, ICAO: LROP) is currently the busiest airport in Romania, which serves the capital city of Romania, Bucharest, by the smallest Băneasa Aurel Vlaicu, which functions primarily as a hub for low cost airlines and business travelers. Located north of Bucharest, the airport is located in Otopeni, Ilfov. It is also known around as Otopeni Airport (Romanian Aeroportul Internaţional Bucureşti Otopeni). Its name was given in May 2004 when he was given the name of the Romanian aviation pioneer, Professor Henri Coanda, builder of the world's first turbine capable of powering an aircraft.
